This express 30-minute spa session combines the sculpting techniques of Face Pilates™ with the therapeutic power of buccal massage. Working both externally and inside the mouth, your therapist uses precise facial massage movements to release built-up tension in the jaw, cheeks, and around the mouth.

What is Face Pilates™?

Face Pilates™ is a specialized facial massage treatment created at AMAN Spa that combines massage, muscle work, and targeted techniques for the face, neck, and jaw. It focuses on releasing tension, increasing circulation, removing toxins and fluid buildup, supporting comfort, and promoting a sense of lightness and ease.

How is Face Pilates™ different from a traditional facial?

Face Pilates is a massage and not a cosmetic facial. Unlike a classic cosmetic facials that focuses mainly on cleansing and topical products, Face Pilates™ is a massage and emphasizes manual techniques, intra-oral (buccal) work when appropriate, and muscle-focused touch. Skincare is still used instead of oil or as medium necessary, but the focus is on how your face feels and functions, and not on cosmetic improvement. The purpose of Face Pilates™ is to improve the functioning of the various tissues of your face so that they perform at their best.

Is Face Pilates™ suitable if I have TMJ or jaw tension?

Yes. Many guests with jaw tension, clenching, or grinding seek out Face Pilates™ for relief. Your therapist will discuss your symptoms, comfort level, and any dental or medical considerations before incorporating jaw work or intra-oral techniques.

What does a session feel like?

Most people describe Face Pilates™ as deeply relaxing yet surprisingly “activating.” You may feel warmth, release, and greater freedom in your face and neck. You’re encouraged to communicate at any time about pressure, pace, or sensitive areas.

Can I book Face Pilates™ before an event or photoshoot?

Yes. Many people book before special occasions to feel more open, relaxed, and refreshed. Please let us know of the timing of your event. If you’re pairing it with makeup or other services, let us know your timing so we can suggest the best scheduling.

Will my skin be irritated or red after a treatment?

Most people experience only transient redness in the skin due to the increased blood flow and friction on the skin. Some people and skin types may experience prolonged redness or more. If you have fragile or sensitive skin, or you bruise easily, please let your therapist know in advance so we can modify the treatment .

Who can get Face Pilates?

Face Pilates™ is a treatment for anyone and for all skin types. However, Face Pilates™ cannot be performed after recent facial cosmetic work - neurotoxins such as Botox™: 7 days - Facial filler: 14 days - as both can migrate. You also can't get Face Pilates™ if you have open sores or active infection on your face and neck.

Can I get Face Pilates while pregnant?

Yes, Face Pilates is pregnancy safe. However, we recommend waiting till after your first trimester before getting any kind of spa treatment.

What are post-care instructions for Face Pilates?

Face Pilates™ incorporates various creams and other carriers that, in addition to their primary purpose of acting as a medium, also have added benefits. We do this intentionally so that you get the very most out of your time with AMAN Spa. We recommend that you don't wash your face for 2-3 hours after your treatment, avoid extreme cold and heat, and drink plenty of water.

Is Face Pilates™ insurance receipt eligible?

Yes, so long as you book your treatment with an RMT. Face Pilates is not a facial but a massage that is designed to prevent disfunction of facial tissues and to promote proper functioning and health of all the various tissues and systems of your face.
